Elaine Chang, PhD
VP, Intellectual PropertyDr. Chang is our Vice President of Intellectual Property.
She joined Oruka with more than 20 years of experience in patent law, both in law firms and the pharmaceutical industry. Prior to Oruka, she was Head of IP at Allogene Therapeutics overseeing all IP matters. Before Allogene, she worked at Genentech as Senior Patent Counsel supporting clinical and commercial programs both in patent prosecution and litigation. Before going in-house, she practiced IP law for ten years at McDonnell Boehnen Hulbert & Berghoff LLP in Chicago.
Elaine holds a J.D. from Loyola University, College of Law, and earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Chicago.
